In defence of True Detective: Night Country

I’ve watched every episode of True Detective. It’s been four seasons of mostly-enjoyable crime drama, with dashes of the supernatural or mysticism here and there. Moreso for season four that just concluded: Night Country, which had enough of that to be a season of The Terror. And that seems to have spawned a lot of criticism.
